Tramline from Sol to Upsilon Andromedae

This is the tramline from Earth (Sol d) to Ultima (Upsilon Andromedae d 3) that is mentioned in the colony list article. This is the route that would be taken by most starships around the year 3250—the links are based on the positions of each star in that year. Note that there are three links in the chain that are longer than 7.5 light-years; colony ships could be specially outfitted to travel those particular links. (7.5 light-years was not a hard limit!)

An M4 V red dwarf located 5.52 light-years from Sol. Virtually all trips out from Sol passed through this system.

Ross 154

An M3.5 V red dwarf located 6.05 light-years from Barnard's Star. Most traffic through this system was routed through the Fort Chandler space station.

Lacaille 8760

An M0 Ve red dwarf located 7.27 light-years from Ross 154.

EZ Aquarii

A triple star system consisting of three red dwarfs, located 6.86 light-years from Lacaille 8760.

Gliese 1002

An M5.5 V red dwarf located 6.83 light-years from EZ Aquarii.

BR Piscium

An M1 red dwarf located 4.66 light-years from Gliese 1002.

EQ Pegasi

A system of two red dwarfs located 6.36 light-years from BR Piscium.

HD 216899

An M1.5 V red dwarf located 4.12 light-years from EQ Pegasi.

Ross 775

An M3 V red dwarf located 7.73 light-years from HD 216899.

Sébastien's Star

AKA LSPM J2146+3813, an M5 V red dwarf located 8.02 light-years from Ross 775. The system has eight planets. There is an outpost on the seventh planet (a low-density super-Earth with earthlike gravity), and a refueling station at the eighth planet (a mini-Neptune planet).

EV Lacertae

An M4 Ve red dwarf located 7.42 light-years from Sébastien's Star.

HD 219134

A K3 V orange dwarf located 6.63 light-years from EV Lacertae.

Mu Cassiopeiae

A binary system with a G5 V yellow dwarf and a red dwarf located 7.46 light-years from HD 219134.

Gatewood 1367

An M6 V red dwarf located 7.38 light-years from Mu Cassiopeiae.

Gliese 47

An M2 V red dwarf located 5.77 light-years from Gatewood 1367.

Gliese 3126

An M2.5 V red dwarf located 6.14 light-years from Gliese 47.

Ross 10

An M2.5 V red dwarf located 6.77 light-years from Gliese 3126.

LHS 5050

An M3.5 V red dwarf located 7.89 light-years from Ross 10.

Haizum

AKA HD 10307, a G1 V yellow dwarf located 6.80 light-years from LHS 5050. Haizum is the host star to the colony planet Buraq. Haizum also has a red dwarf companion, Rakhsh.

Titawin

AKA Upsilon Andromedae. Titawin is located 4.37 light-years from Haizum, and is a binary system of an F8 V and an M4.5 V star. Ultima orbits the gas giant Majriti, which orbits the F8 star.
